Groudon is the heaviest of all Pokémon.
Groudon shares the same species name as Torterra; they are both known as the Continent Pokémon.
Although Groudon is genderless in the main games, it is referred to as a male in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness.
In the anime it is portrayed to be as tall as a skyscraper, but in actual fact it’s only 11’06”.
A Groudon costume is worn by Terrell in Pokémon Battle Revolution.
Groudon is one of two Pokémon that shares no types with other main series version mascots. The other is Venusaur.
On the DVD cover of Jirachi: Wish Maker, Groudon is depicted in a normal state. However, the main storyline Groudon was not in a normal state at all, and was a fake or “virus” Groudon.
In Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, before Michael can get to Makan, he has to fight Chobin. And, after defeating him, has to fight him again, only this time, Chobin is in a Robo Groudon which is a creation of Dr. Kaminko.
Groudon is the only Generation III legendary Pokémon to have never appeared in any movie (only in introductions, though a fake one appears in the sixth movie).
Its Diamond, HeartGold, and SoulSilver Pokédex entries states that it was formed from 108 spirits. Spiritomb’s number in the Sinnoh Pokédexis 108, its Defense and Special Defense base values are 108, and it weighs exactly 108.0 kilograms. This is based on the number of temptations a person must overcome to reach Nirvana in Buddhism.
Prior to the introduction of the Fairy type in Generation VI, Spiritomb was one of the only two Pokémon that had no weakness (without the aid of an Ability).
